For children, being mentally healthy means being able to cope with stress in any situation, to go to school and play at home and in the community without feeling angry, anxious or depressed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s worth noting that mental disorders do not develop on their own, but are triggered by changes or traumatic events in the life of a child. Such triggers can include changing homes, parents&#8217; divorce, starting a new school, or death of a beloved pet. In such situations, parents must be especially vigilant and pay attention to their children\u2019s needs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Why is children\u2019s mental health important?<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Good mental health allows children and young people to develop the resilience to cope with whatever life throws at them and grow into well-rounded, healthy adults. However, mental health problems affect about <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mentalhealth.org.uk\/statistics\/mental-health-statistics-children-and-young-people\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1 in 10 children<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and young people. The most common are depression, anxiety, and behavioral disorders such as eating disorders.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And alarmingly, approximately 70% of children and young people who experience a mental health problem have not had appropriate interventions at a sufficiently early age.
